Curriculum
The Academy uses Saxon curriculum for basic instructional
materials. Saxon is a research supported, age appropriate, early
childhood curriculum. Our students attend Music class every day for
reinforcement of large motor and higher level learning skills. Also in
our Music class, students learn and perform programs throughout
the school year. Pre-K 4 students also attend computer lab once a
week. We believe in active learning. Therefore, worksheets are not
our primary source of instruction. The children use manipulatives,
art, music, role-playing props and centers so children can learn in a
positive, successful environment.

Kindergarten
The Kindergarten uses Saxon Math and Saxon phonics curriculum.
These are the same curriculums that are used in public schools.
The Kindergarten also uses guided reading as a way to teach
beginning reading. We also administer the Texas Pre-Reading
Inventory test (TPRI) and the Developmental Reading Assessment
(DRA) just as public school requires. This will enable your child to
enter the first grade with the same test requirements that public
school students enter with. Students also attend Computer Lab at
least twice weekly and have Music class daily. The Kindergarten
class also has Bible lessons as part of their daily curriculum and
learns the Lord's Prayer. We believe in active learning. Therefore,
worksheets are not our primary source of instruction. The children
use manipulatives, art, music, role-playing props and centers so
children can learn in a positive, successful environment.

Chapel
The children enjoy chapel every Wednesday. We also incorporate
scripture and Bible stories in the classroom for spiritual
development. Students also learn the books of the Bible and the
qualities of prayer.
